This Sunday Gabriel Delahaye and I Like Attention
Oct 10th, 2007 by Max
Sunday, October 14th is a tremendously special I Like Attention, everybody. Joining me as my co-host this month is Gabriel Delahaye of corporate-casual.com, writer for the forthcoming humor site 23/6, Gawker’s Unethicist, and my personal laugh lifting buddy and comedy spotter. Gabe and I have a bunch of really awesome things in store for the show, including what promises to be a very enjoyable video that will make you rich. It is rare you find comedy among moving images paired with synchronized audio, but I think we might have done it.
We will also be welcoming some lovely special guests:
Larry Murphy: returning to the I Like Attention stage for an unprecedented 2nd month in a row, he is literally a visionary talent with an inhuman ear for characters. I very much enjoy him on Assy McGee, an Adult Swim show on which he does just about every voice. His voice over reel is amazing. He’s got a new sketch planned that is going to be oh-so-fun.
Patrick Borelli: this guy is one of the sharpest writers I’ve ever seen, and probably the only comic whose jokes are so good that I will make requests. He’s appeared on Comedy Central and on Conan and is currently working on all sorts of neat writing projects.
Chelsea Peretti: one-quarter of the red-hot Variety SHAC, she is a comedy polymath, or as I like to say, a “polylaugh”. (I never say that.) Besides being a hilarious stand-up comic, Chelsea just co-wrote Gawker’s Guide to Conquering All Media, has an amazing show on SuperDeluxe, and co-created blackpeopleloveus.com. If you haven’t seen her you are dumb.
Jack Kukoda: he is from Buffalo. He writes for the Onion News Network which is maybe the best thing going right now. I have never seen him not just crush onstage. He also looks a lot like me. But I am taller.
Do come. It’ll be great. Remember, New York Magazine called this show “buzzy”, so if you don’t come you will not know what all the blogs and water coolers are talking about Monday morning. And as you know if you’ve come before, this show is lots of fun and there is a super chill after-party where I will impress you with how well I schmooze and how not bothered you are by the fact I only get a chance to talk to you for about 90 seconds. You don’t want to miss it.
